Nature Hike at Deer Pond Farm:
2 Miles of Fascinating Environmental Insight!

Candlewood Valley Regional Land Trust board member Sharon Danosky and Deer Pond Farm director Cathy Hagadorn, took Candlewood Valley Regional Land Trust hikers on a two-mile guided tour of pristine hardwood forest, meadows, and wetlands. Cathy provided an amazing amount of knowledge on the plant and animal habitat there, and made it a wonderful, interactive experience!

Quick Nugget: The Connecticut Audubon Society received a generous bequest in 2017, from the estate of Kathryn D. Wriston, of 835 acres of rugged hardwood forest, meadows, and wetlands straddling the state border of Connecticut and New York. Called Deer Pond Farm, approximately half the property is in Sherman, and half in Pawling, N.Y. The property offers a network of 20 miles of trails. Read on to see lots of photos!
