The Board of Directors for Candlewood Valley Regional Land Trust (CVRLT) is pleased to announce the following officer appointments for 2019:
Cheryl Rykowski – President
Faline Schneiderman – Vice President
Mike Cunningham – Treasurer and Secretary
“It has been a pleasure serving this organization as President for the last two years,” said outgoing president, Rich Hlavenka. “We have an extremely active and committed board that accomplished much throughout 2018, including a variety of public hikes and a very successful annual event that allowed us to thank our old friends and make some new ones. We’re excited to welcome Cheryl Rykowski as our new board president.”
Incoming President, Cheryl Rysowski has been active on the board for 12 years, and previously served as vice president. “I am very much looking forward to 2019 as we explore a number of new outreach programs and additions to our protected properties.” Cheryl added, “This is also the first time this organization will be lead by women. This has typically not been the norm within land trusts, and we’re hoping that this will serve as a model for other land trust organizations going forward.”
In addition to newly elected officers, CVRLT also announced the addition of three new board members: Brian Coyman, Cheryl DeBow, and Sean Hanley. “We welcome these new members to our board,” said Board President Cheryl Rykowski. “They each bring specific sets of skills and interests related to open space and the environment that will help us to establish exciting new initiatives to protect the land and engage our communities.”
