The Land Trust of Danbury Makes First Ever Property Purchase

DANBURY, Conn., December 1, 2010 – The Land Trust of Danbury recently announced it has signed an agreement with Robert Ruscoe to purchase approximately 10 acres of Mr. Ruscoe’s woodland property near Long Ridge Road over the next three years.  Mr. Ruscoe generously agreed to sell the property to The Land Trust at a price below fair market value to ensure the property remains forever protected.  The Ruscoe property abuts 4.12 acres of land donated to The Land Trust by Louis and Anthony Nazzaro in 1993, and will bring the total acreage under The Land Trust’s protection to approximately 227 acres.

“The purchase of Bob Ruscoe’s 10 woodland acres is the first time in the 39 year history of The Land Trust that we have purchased property,” said Bill Montgomery, president of The Land Trust.  “Until now, the lands we protect have been donated outright or by conservation easement,” he continued.
