CVRLT, an Accredited Member of the National Land Trust Alliance

Posted on

Thanks to our members and volunteers, we maintain our local preserves and also support our nation’s land conservation movement as an accredited member of the Land Trust Alliance (LTA). LTA was founded in 1982 to support the growing number of land trusts inspired by the first Earth Day in 1970. By 2020, 950 of our nation’s 1,281 land trusts were LTA members, with more than 250,000 volunteers and 6.3 million members nationwide. LTA land trusts serve a wide variety of communities and protect a wide range of lands and habitats, but we all share the mission of preserving our lands and habitats legally, ethically, and in perpetuity.

LTA’s Land Trust Accreditation Commission recognizes members with excellent performance on its Land Trust Standards and Practices as accredited land trusts. CVRLT is proud to be an LTA accredited land trust and grateful to be entrusted with stewarding important habitats such as Dunham Pond on Komlo Preserve and Wildlife Sanctuary (shown above).

We invite you to use LTA’s Find A Land Trust online directory to visit and enjoy an accredited land trust this holiday season! Click on the underlined link above, find an accredited LTA land trust near home or on your travels, and share the gift of enjoying nature with family or friends!

Please help us maintain our preserves in 2025! Click here to volunteer with us or below to donate to our Holiday Appeal. Your gift helps us maintain our preserves for the wildlife living there and the visitors enjoying nature there. Thank you, and happy holidays from all of us at CVRLT!
