Meet Up and Enjoy a Fun Family Cookout at Komlo Preserve!

May 11, 2019 @ 3:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Join us for a family-fun cookout and learn about what is going on in your own back yard!

In 2018 a tornado tore through our area? Was it a fluke; could we expect more? Come hear Dr. Mich Wagener talk about Climate Change: The Impact on Our Local Environment. Learn about your local land trust and ways that you can get outside and have fun. Then enjoy a cook-out and spend some time on our Komlo Preserve. Kids and dogs of all ages welcome! Everyone will leave with a special gift to benefit the environment.

About Our Speaker

Dr. Mich Wagener is a professor of Invertebrate Zoology and Soil Ecology at Western Connecticut State University where he teaches climate ecology, entomology and related courses. He has written and spoken extensively on the history of climate change and its impact on the environment.

He holds a Ph.D. in Soil Ecology from University of Alaska Fairbanks, a M.S. Stream Ecology from University of Alaska Fairbanks, and a B.S. cum laude in Fisheries and Wildlife from University of Missouri, Columbia.

Please RSVP to [email protected] so we can be sure to have enough food and beverages on hand!

DRIVING DIRECTIONS: Enter 130 Route 37, New Fairfield for GPS and take that driveway straight back (it forks to the left) on to the dirt road to arrive at Dunham Pond. Signage will direct you where to park.
